Amsterdam, for more than 400 years, City of Diamonds
Over the centuries Amsterdam has built an excellent and well-deserved reputation for the high quality of its diamond polishing and cutting. In 1586 the very first diamond polisher was registered in Amsterdam. Since that date the polishing skills have been honed and passed on to subsequent generations. The world renowned Amsterdam Cut was perfected by the Amsterdam diamond cutters. So it is not without reason that world famous stones such as the Koh-I-Noor and the Cullinan were cut and polished in Amsterdam.
Amsterdam has over 400 years of history in diamonds, becoming the largest diamond city in the world. At Gassan Diamonds the rough stones are still transformed into beautiful sparkling diamonds every single day. Experience Amsterdam City of Diamonds - visit Gassan Diamonds.

What is the Amsterdam Cut?

The Amsterdam Cut is a brilliant cut diamond. The Amsterdam Cut received that name because the diamond polishers in Amsterdam had been producing the most sparkling diamonds possible for centuries. The knowledge required for this incredibly many-sided trade of diamond cutting and polishing has been passed on from generation to generation. The diamond polishers at both Gassan Diamonds and the Amsterdam Diamond Center are very successful in cutting Amsterdam Cut diamonds.
Purchase an Amsterdam Cut for yourself or for your loved one, at Gassan Diamonds, Amsterdam Diamond Center, Van Pampus Jewels & Watches or at Gassan Plaza. Your purchased diamond includes a certificate of authenticity.
Gassan 121
For generations, the diamond cutters and polishers at Gassan Diamonds have been perfecting the sparkling and beautiful brilliance of their diamonds. They have been perfecting the symmetry of each of the 57 faces with only one aim in mind - perfect beauty. Gassan Diamonds proudly presents the next step in creating perfection - the Gassan 121. This new breathtaking diamond polishing method has 121 facets and therefore incredible powers of reflection. You will doubtless be totally enchanted by the stunning Gassan 121.
The Gassan 121has one hundred and twenty one facets, sixteen additional facets on the top and forty extra on the bottom in comparison to the traditional round brilliant cut. According to a report of the WTOCD (a department of the High Council of Diamonds in Antwerp) the placement of the additional facets strongly emphasizes the contrast between the light and dark zones of the diamond.
This makes the overall appearance of the Gassan 121 even more spectacular. At Gassan Diamonds we continue promoting the beautiful traditional round brilliant cut, and in addition we proudly present the next step in perfection represented by the Gassan 121. Therefore we kindly invite you to come and make the comparison yourself because one does not have to be an expert to appreciate the apparent difference!!!!
